Musical Director

Kimberly Newcomb

Kim Newcomb was born and raised in Texas where she first started singing barbershop in the Austin Harmony Chorus at the age of 12. She attended college at the University of North Texas and holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education with a concentration in Voice. While in college, Kim sang in many different barbershop ensembles including multiple female quartets, a mixed quartet, and the Rich-tone chorus. Following college, she spent two years teaching middle school choir and now teaches private voice lessons for all ages. Kim is self-employed and runs NewVoice Studio, under which she teaches voice, coaches various ensembles, and makes learning tracks. Kim is a Singing Judge Candidate in the Barbershop Harmony Society and serves as a Young Women In Harmony program coordinator for Sweet Adelines International. Kim currently sings in a long-distance quartet called The Ladies. In 2016, The Ladies quartet won the SAI Rising Star competition held in New Zealand. Kim just can't seem to get enough barbershop in her life, so she has now happily joined Captial City Chorus on this next adventure!
